FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How Do I Book Riad al Idrisi?

The first thing to do is to check that the accommodation you require is available. Do this by completing and submitting the Booking Enquiry Form.

We will let you know if the accomodation you want is available. If you confirm that you would like to make a booking, we will send you payment information. We accept either cheques in UK Sterling drawn from a British bank or online payment using PayPal. If you wish to pay by PayPal, we will send you an online invoice with clear instructions about how to pay. PayPal uses a secure server to process all payments.

Your booking is confirmed once we receive your payment.

Can you help me organise trips outside Marrakech?

Yes. Riad al Idrisi is run by Action Challenge UK, one of the foremost trekking companies in Britain. We have links to an excellent network of guides and accommodation in the Atlas Mountains and are happy to put you in touch with them. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Can you meet me at the airport?

This shouldn't be a problem. Please contact us to arrange this. There will be an additional charge for this service.

Who runs Riad al Idrisi?

Riad al Idrisi is owned and run by Action Challenge UK, a charity trekking organisation based in London. Your initial contact for bookings will be with us. In Marrakech, the Riad Manager is Ouafa who will look after you during your stay. She lives near the Riad and will be on hand to help you with any problems/questions you may have. She will also provide breakfast if you request it (see prices for further details).

Is the water safe to drink?

We haven't experienced any problems so far with the drinking water. We would recommend, to be on the safe side, that you drink bottled water. Bottled water is cheap and widely available from many local shops.

How much money should I bring?

This is up to you, of course. However, it is worth noting that there are many cashpoints in Marrakech, particularly around Djema el-Fnaa and in the New Town. You will find that most bank cards can be used in these machines. The local currency is the Dirham which is the equivalent of about £0.06. For current exchange rates, click here.
